Adbrain is here to use data and intelligence to make ads not suck. We want people to want to see ads, not rage over them. We bridge the communication gap between people and their many devices.

We’re lean, crazy-fast, innovative, and bursting at the seams with people passionate about you-name-it from all corners of the world. We’re challenged on a daily basis by complex problems that will push you to create something you’ve never built before on an incredibly wide range of technologies.

We’re seeking smart, curious, pragmatic, respectful, rational-but-creative individuals. In return, we can offer you a friendly but hard-working environment where you can instantly see your impact on the company’s success, alongside some of the smartest engineers. We can also offer you the refreshing experience of working in cutting edge Agile Squad Teams, hugely inspired by Spotify’s Squads but reinvented to embrace the challenge of additional constraints of a truly lean and ambitious company.

You will build with us the AI and the data tools to make people love ads for the first time.

ABOUT YOU

  • A deep understanding of the difference between programming and software engineering

  • Agile principles and a balanced appreciation of the lean mindset - with a view to iterate and test rapidly where possible and sensible, and design and implement to ship a version of a solution sooner rather than later. (We aim to follow the spirit of the law, and not its letter).

  • You care about Software, appreciating pragmatism, accountability, and quality of the software as a measure of company success rather than an abstract principle

  • You have strong opinions, loosely held. You know how to argue your point passionately, but are the first to change your mind if proven wrong

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Help Adbrain in shaping and leading the Big Data Architecture and delivery

  • Hands-on development of innovative big data solutions

  • Champion the engineering mindset and best practices among the wider team

  • Spearhead discussions around constraints and opportunities given your broad expertise and experience working in the big data engineering industry

  • Leverage your experience and broad expertise by demonstrating your ability to elucidate and inspire as a thought leader and mentor

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Experience implementing robust big data tools and applications at scale (multi-TB to PB). Ideally, experience should be on both internal tools and solutions (to render the team more efficient) and also client-facing production solutions

  • Production experience with multiple big data technologies, and excellent knowledge of some specific big data technologies is necessary

  • Programming in Scala
